At River Islands, we care about the health of our community members and we’re proud to announce that we are partnering with the American Heart Association to bring awareness and education on heart health! February is American Heart Month, which is a month dedicated to reminding everyone about the importance of heart health. With heart disease being at the very top for the cause of death in Americans, the American Heart Association wants you to know how to decrease your risk of heart disease and keep your heart healthy through LIFE’S ESSENTIAL 8.
During the month of February, here’s how our community is GOING RED:
• February 3 is National Wear Red Day. • The River Islands Academies will teach students what it means to keep their hearts healthy. • On February 19 from 12 pm – 5 pm, blood pressure screenings will take place at the Welcome Center and the Lathrop-Manteca Fire Department will demonstrate how to correctly perform hands-only CPR. • The Boathouse Restaurant will add heart-healthy offerings to its menu.
Check out our social media pages for heart-healthy recipes and tips. This Fall, become a champion of health and participate in the Annual Heart Walk, which will take place in River Islands! Stay tuned for more information.
